Elgin's Historical Society has a wealth of
information for history buffs!

The Elgin Museum is located at
231 Center St. Elgin, IA  52141

Open hours are each Thursday afternoon from May through
October  from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.

The Elgin Historical Society was started in 1984. Their large
archive includes photographs, school information, historical
records, furniture, Elgin memorabilia and detailed Genealogy
and Obituary records.

The Elgin Historical Society is part of the Elgin Block and is located next to
the city park on Center Street across from the Post Office.
These doors from the Elgin School were incorporated into the
addition on the back of the Historical Society Building.
The collection includes textiles, clothing and household goods from
many of the early settlers including the Swiss.
School photographs and records are
displayed and easily accessible.
This early wagon from the railroad depot is one of the great
exhibits at the Elgin Historical Society.
This collection of Irons is one of the
unusual displays.
The Old Mill Stone is on display outside
the building next to the city park.
